Frustration with Politicians

I have always taken an interest in current affairs and politics, something which I possiibly got from my late father. At the moment I feel a deep sense of frustration at the political world. I always thought that those who aspire to lead, do so to better society and their fellow citizens. But today that does not seem to be the case. They are rather pursuing their own personal agenda. Take the current debacle in the UK as an example. Nobody in Parliament today seems to be looking at the bigger picture of sorting out the mess that is Brexit. I personally think that the UK is not ready for it, and therefore should stay put, as much as I think that the EU needs serious reform.
